Headteacher of Trinity Catholic College in Middlesbrough, Louise Dwyer acknowledged the grit and determination shown by the first Year 11 cohort to sit GCSE examinations in three years.

βThe class of 2022 have worked so hard to achieve their results and this should be commended given the disruption they have faced during their two-year GCSE courses,β said Mrs Dwyer.
βIt is the first Year 11 cohort to sit exams since the pandemic and their resilience, focus and determination has been amazing. We are so proud of them.Β
βWe wish every one of our leavers the very best and the brightest of futures. We look forward to welcoming back the many pupils who will be continuing their education at our sixth form in September.
βThe brand new post-16 T6 Football Academy launches in September on the Trinity Catholic College site and whilst this is full, Trinity Sixth Form has limited places available. Floyd S
Former Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, Middlesbrough pupil and talented footballer, Floyd S achieved a grade 9, five grade 8s, a Distinction * and two grade 7s.
Head boy of Bede House, Floyd will continue his post-16 education at the new and exciting T6 Football Academy based at Trinity Sixth Form within the Nicholas Postgate Catholic Academy Trust. There, he will combine his academic ability with his talent and love of football. Floyd will study A-level Maths, Physics and Biology in a bid to achieve top grades and go onto read mechanical engineering at university . He will also undertake a programme of elite-level, competitive football as part of his studies. Floyd said: β Iβm ecstatic with what I have got – it is much better than I expected. I worked really hard in Year 11 and it has paid off. I must thank Mr Murray for Maths, but also to all my teachers who have been brilliant to me. I am also excited to start at T6 Football Academy in September!β.

Sophie R
Former pupil of St Edwardβs Catholic Primary School in Middlesbrough, Sophie R achieved some fantastic results with seven grade 9s and one grade 8.Β
Sophie worked incredibly hard to achieve these amazing results and will be continuing her education at Trinity Sixth Form. She will be studying A-level Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics to enable her to pursue her career aspirations of becoming a doctor. Sophie is a model pupil, she works incredibly hard but also was successful as Head Girl where she led the student leadership team, embracing everything it means to be part of the Trinity family. The Trinity family are delighted with Sophieβs results and look forward to being part of the next stage in her education. Sophie said: βI am really happy with what I have achieved as I was really nervous coming to school today – I am especially proud of how I have done over this year especially. It has been a tough couple of years and we have missed out on so much so this is just so pleasing! Iβm really excited about starting Trinity Sixth Form and I am definitely aiming to go to university. Thanks to all my teachers for supporting me.β

Paige H
Former St Josephβs Catholic Primary School, Middlesbrough pupil, Paige H has excelled in her GCSEs – achieving four grade 9s, four grade 8s and a Distinction*.Β
Paigeβs determination to succeed has led to her performing well above her projected grades and teachers are delighted with her results. Her next chapter will see her remain at Trinity Catholic College in the Sixth Form where she will study A-level, Maths, Chemistry, Physics and History. βI am so happy with my results – I am speechless,β said Paige. She went on to add βI am so proud of myself as I kept on improving as the year went on. I cannot wait to start Trinity Sixth Form, this has really boosted my self-confidence!β.

Lewis M
Lewis M’s hard work has been rewarded with GCSE results that include a grade 9, five grade 8s, a Distinction * and two grade 7s.
Lewis is staying in the Trinity family and will go on to study A-level, Maths, Physics and Engineering at Trinity Sixth Form. He aspires to study Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering at university in the future. βMy science result is the one I am delighted with having got a grade 9! I wasnβt expecting to do so well in Maths either. I was nervous about this but to get an 8 is brilliant. Year 11 was hard work and sitting exams was nerve-wracking but the support I got from my teachers has made it all worthwhile!β.










Deputy head girl Phoebe Teasdale achieved excellent grades against all the odds, having been forced to shield for the whole of Year 11. The former St Edwardβs Catholic Primary pupil achieved four grade 9s and a distinction*.
Former St Bernadetteβs Catholic Primary pupil Noah Brooks achieved fantastic results, with eight grade 9s β including English and maths β and one grade 8.
James Chadwick achieved grade 9s in English, science, maths, geography and RE, plus two grade 8s.
Ella Mae Spearing achieved excellent results, with grade 9s in five subjects, including English and maths. Next year she is going to study maths, chemistry and biology at Trinity Sixth Form.Β
Libby Springthorpe, one of Trinityβs Year 11 student leaders, was delighted with her impressive results. Libby received four grade 9s, including English language, RE and history. Next year she will begin studying maths, chemistry and biology at Trinity Sixth Form before hopefully studying medicine at university.
Former St Patrickβs Catholic Primary School pupil Matthew Lees has been a high performer throughout his time at St Patrickβs, always showing a mature attitude and articulating his views with confidence. Matthew has achieved results to be proud of in his GCSEs, with grades 8 and 9 in his science and Maths. He has also been awarded the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) qualification.Β
Francesca OβKane, another former St Patrickβs Catholic Primary pupil, is elated after achieving grade 9s in RE and geography, and a Level 2 distinction in sport science, as well as the EBacc.Β
Former St Patrick’s Primary pupil Eden Trotter was delighted after achieving a grade 9 in English and History and a grade 8 in RE and art.
Conscientious and hardworking pupil Amina Mazhar is on course to achieve her ambition of becoming a paediatrician after achieving a grade 7 in maths and a grade 8 in science.Β
Jack Humphreys, a former Christ the King Catholic Primary pupil, was delighted after passing all his subjects. Jack has been a huge asset to the St Patrickβs community, taking a lead role in charity events and attending the annual Lourdes pilgrimage.
Essie Croce, a former pupil of St Margaret Clitherowβs Primary School, has been an outstanding achiever throughout her time at St Peterβs.
Franklin Jay Northridge joined St Peterβs from St Gabrielβs Catholic Primary School.
Isabel Willet joined St Peterβs from St Margaret Clitherowβs Catholic Primary and has been an outstanding pupil throughout her time at the school.
Zainab Zahid has represented the school at netball as well as being a prefect in her final year. She has been an outstanding pupil throughout her time at St Peterβs and this is reflected in her results.
Among the success stories is Lauren Hinton, who secured eight grade 9s, an incredibleΒ achievement and testament to her hard work throughout her five years at Sacred Heart.
Another former St Paulinus pupil, Grace Hinton, secured an impressive nine grade 9s, including geography, art and RE.Β
Libby Ramsey, a former pupil at St Gabrielβs Catholic Primary in
George McCormick secured a fantastic set of results, gaining grade 9s in PE, RE English language, English literature and maths.
