Funding Your Teacher Training

Teacher training in England is supported by the Department for Education (DfE).

If you are applying for a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) route, whether through the University of York (Primary or Secondary),Polaris – York St John, or Leeds Trinity, you may be entitled to financial support.

Postgraduate Funding

If you are training through a PGCE, you may be able to access:

  • Postgraduate student finance to help with tuition fees and living costs
  • DfE training bursaries or scholarships (available in certain priority subjects)
