Post-16 results at All Saints Catholic School in York have once again demonstrated the talent, determination and hard work of its young people.

The school celebrated a fourth consecutive year of growth in the proportion of students achieving the highest grades.

This year a third of grades were at A*/A and 44.4% of students achieved three A* -B grades, the highest figure in the past four years. Students have secured places at some of the country’s most prestigious universities, alongside a growing number progressing into highly competitive degree apprenticeships, apprenticeships and specialist training programmes.Among the individual successes, all three of the school’s aspiring medics secured their university places. The school’s Oxbridge candidates are also looking forward to reading their chosen subjects in the autumn.

One student whose achievements have extended well beyond the classroom is Isaac Morris. After his gap year, Isaac will take up a place at Princeton University, an Ivy League institution in the United States.
His success follows an exceptional sporting achievement, having recently represented Great Britain at Under 23 level in rowing and finishing eighth in the World Championships.

Headteacher Sharon Keelan-Beardsley said: “We could not be prouder of our students. These results are a wonderful reflection of their hard work, determination and ambition, supported by the dedication of our staff and the strong partnership between school and families.

“A significant number of students achieved As or A* across the board and several achieved three or more A* in all their chosen subjects, including Hope Fomekong Zome, Owen Fryer, Monty Parmiter, Oliwia Rosciszewska, Florence Slezak and Ava Thomas-Richards.

“A number of our young people have overcome challenges to achieve superb results, making their success all the more inspiring.

“While academic achievement is important, we are equally proud of the confident, compassionate young people our students have become.

“The country needs a workforce that is flexible, resilient and innovative, and our young people possess these qualities in abundance.

“All Saints students leave us with far more than outstanding exam results; they take with them strong values, a commitment to making a positive difference and the ambition to succeed in whatever path they choose.
