Proposal
The Nicholas Postgate Catholic Academy Trust intends to develop the existing Nursery provision, by extending the age range, at the following school:
St. Gabriel’s Catholic Primary School, Allendale Road, Ormesby, Middlesbrough, TS7 9LF
Details
St Gabrielβs Catholic Primary School, part of Nicholas Postgate Academy Trust, are inviting consultation responses on a formal proposal to extend the age range of the school from 3 – 11 years to 2 – 11 years, by creating a two-year-old provision.
This development is felt to be necessary to enable children for whom a faith education is preferred to receive excellent access to appropriate early learning and educational opportunities from the age of 2. Children will access high-quality play provision, which meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.Β
The proposed changes would ensure the highest quality provision and learning environment for a cohort of two -year-olds, ensuring progression and smooth transition into our existing three-year-old nursery. Children would benefit from fully qualified staff working as part of our existing Early Years Foundation Stage.
The two-year-old provision would be open term time only (39 weeks per year) operating the same hours as our existing nursery provision, allowing children to attend for the full 15 funded hours.
To open two-year-old nursery provision with 10 morning spaces and 10 afternoon spaces.Β (This can include full 30 hours)
The new places will be made available from September 2025.
