Developing world-class teachers and leaders

Nicholas Postgate Catholic Academy Trust is committed to developing a world-class workforce of teachers and other educational professionals.

When you join our outstanding quality initial teacher training programme, you will be part of an inspirational learning community that’s on a journey towards achieving a national reputation for excellence in teaching and learning.

NPCAT works with people of all ages and backgrounds who are training to become teachers. If you would like to find out more about teaching as a profession, either now or in the future, we would be pleased to support you.

The relationships you develop with both colleagues and young people make coming to work a happy and fulfilling experience. It’s never too early, or too late, to have a conversation about the future if teaching is a profession that may interest you or someone you know.

What do our trainees say ?

β€œAs soon as I went to my first training day, I knew I had made the right decision about where I completed my teacher training. What drew me was the wraparound support I saw previous students getting, from mentors to the course leaders. This, matched with the team’s relationships with local primary schools, meant I felt I would have the best experience at my placements.”—JT

β€œI retrained as a secondary teacher after 20 years as a journalist. It was a huge step, both professionally and personally, and I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming environment. The Initial Teacher Training course at All Saints has the care of the individual trainee at its heart, and while it fosters real independence in the classroom, there is also a fantastic network of support for those inevitable moments of crisis. The team at All Saints did the seemingly impossible – they proved I wasn’t too old to go back to school!”— SJ
